Hays View On Skill Shortages In UK

According to Hays Scotland engineering recruitment specialist, the skills shortages are a problem for the country in engineering industry. Talent Scotland released a survey last week and found that Scotland is now the most popular destination for people looking for work in the UK. But still more needs to be done to pull in workers specializing in areas like engineer jobs, energy and technology jobs.

The managing director of Hays Scotland, Darren Montagu, says there are enough opportunities for people looking for engineering jobs UK. He commented, “Scotland very much takes the lead in the energy industry. Overall it is strong and although we are seeing more jobs, there are some skills gaps that can’t be filled with local talent and will offer fantastic opportunities for the right international candidates.”

Moreover he explained that with some specific qualifications relevant to industry will be welcome such as mechanical, electrical, chemical and structural engineering degrees and many companies offer support to staff in obtaining postgraduate qualifications.
